Yes, typically most huskies are prone to running and ignoring commands when off leash. The main reason for this is their high prey drive. If they see something moving they'll go after it. Fortunately, I live in a forested area where the nearest road is miles away and the only real danger is a wolf encounter. When I'm in the city my dog is always collared and leashed.
This is so perfect. Even though we domesticate dogs, they still know their true calling: nature. I'm not talking about them being aggressive or anything, I mean how free they look in any place or setting. They love everything they do and put out 110% for us, but give them a moment to themselves, and they will be at peace just knowing their inner freedom.
